...MY RESPONSE TO MIKE & THE MECHANICS

Father
By “OBSIDIAN!!!” c. 2009

it's easy to hate your father
...my father?
i hated him
then i became him
& learned to
love him
and then he died...

OK, you're reading my mind here, O!! And how the HELL are you? And how come I didn't know about this blog before? You been holding out on me!

Back to my point: you're reading my mind because I just pulled out a 5-year old song about . . . parents.

You know, my dad died this past September, and we had our issues in our day.... Without going into all that now, the chorus of my song:

"I'll be your father and you be my mother
and we'll raise ourselves
we'll raise our children
to be parents"

When I get it all together, I promise to bring it to Otto's and let you in on it...

My man! My friend! Fellow poet, artist, visionary!!!

: )

Danmed! what's up Fred Arcoleo? haven't heard from u in in long time-sorry for the late reply [i haven't been tending 2 my blog, like i should, lately]...hope u get this reply...yeah, well, i guess we both can appreciate how poetry/music & the arts can help one express their feelings-in an artistic way-about life, one's parents, etc [sorry to hear about the recent lost of your father-mine passed away a good 15 yrs ago]...that's a strange synchronicity that we both were working& thinking about the same topic...sorry to say that the Shout Out @ Ottos is no longer around-i would've love to hear you sing/play that song there..perhaps i will catch-up with you on the poetry circuit...& get a chance 2 hear that song...take care Fred & keep in touch!
