Jesuits Priests & The Novel The Shaitan

JESUITS & THE OCCULT

As I mentioned earlier, I would be explicating upon the hither-to-unknown subject of Jesuit Priests and the world of the occult. However, before I proceed I would like to clarify what I’m referring to when I speak of Jesuit Priests involving themselves in the mystical. One can easily mistake this statement to imply that all those dedicated to the Society of Jesus are in actuality dabblers in Arcanum, harkening back to images of the super-secret society Opus Dei.

Far from it.

The majority of Jesuits would eschew this notion and are simply devoted to the order, in carrying out the daily functions of officiating over church matters and the like.

Having said this, there are and has been a negligible few who have stepped out of the purview of their ordinary duties and have applied themselves vigorously to unraveling the ambiguities particularly shrouded within the world of the supernatural.

It might not be common knowledge, but not a few Jesuit priests have performed exorcisms even in recent times. The fact that they are capable of affecting this spiritual service bespeaks their vast knowledge and exposure to the vulgarities of the world of the occult.

Madame Helena Blavatsky, founder of the Theosophical Society, was fond of accusing Jesuit priests of, not only dabbling in the Arcanum, but also of having commerce with black magic. Whether this accusation if well-founded or not is still debatable.

Nevertheless, it seems probable that the Society of Jesus, otherwise known as the Jesuits, did have exposure to the magical crafts as a result of the codifying of a great body of mystic knowledge by the 12^th century Catholic Pope Honorius the 3^rd, who commissioned a vast compilation of the all the then-known systems of magic in the entire western world.

This monumental work upon completion was entitled “The Grimoire of Pope Honorius,” and has secretly served as a guidebook for Catholic priests ever since, who were curious and bold enough to step foot into the nebulous world of the supernatural and to take on this added profession.

Once again, the question: What does this exposition have to do with my novel The Shaitan? The answer is that it brings us back to the enigmatic figure of the Jesuit priest, Father Emmanuel Miguel Ramirez and his behind-the-scene manipulation and control over the clandestine US army “Operation Inferno,” and over the life and career of our main character, Army Ranger Staff Sergeant Hank Donaldson.

To further understand the complexity of this covert relationship and how it relates to staff Sergeant Hank Donaldson’s assignment over Homeland Security of the nation, I encourage you all to purchased and read an ebook copy of The Shaitan.

Background Information About Action Novel The Shaitan

ABOUT THE NOVEL THE SHAITAN

TOPIC:‭ ‬THE GREAT DRAGON

I would like to talk about the recurring image of the dragon in my action-novel,‭ ‬The Shaitan.‭ ‬Many have wondered about the ever-present image of this dragon,‭ ‬which seem to permeate throughout the story at the most uncanny moments.‭ ‬What does this dragon represent‭? ‬Good question.‭ ‬To be sure,‭ ‬it is a Jungian archetype.‭  ‬Carl Gustav Jung interpreted this symbol to represent the‭ “‬Mother Dragon.‭”

We are all too familiar with the classical medieval scene of the chivalrous knight in shiny armor slaying the dragon.‭ ‬However,‭ ‬few of us are aware that this oft repeated motif is a distant echo of the fall of the matriarchal society,‭ ‬along with the once revered worship of the great Mother God and her connection with the mysterious powers of the earth,‭ ‬Gaia.

You might notice that I referred to this ancient deity as‭ “‬God,‭” ‬with the capital G.‭ ‬This is due to the fact that the original mother deity was considered to be the all-powerful and knowing creator,‭ ‬in opposed to simply being the consort of a dominant male god.‭ ‬This lesser position she was relegated to in later times,‭ ‬during the rise of the male deity and His worship.

Of course,‭ ‬this eventually led to the celibate male priestly class,‭ ‬which we are all too‭ ‬accustomed with today.‭ ‬It might surprise some to know that under the worship of the ancient Mother God sexual rites were considered to be the correct form of communion with deity,‭ ‬in stark contrast to the sexual suppression of the priestly class presiding over the realm of Christendom in our modern times.

This takes us to the most numinous and symbolic bible book of Revelation,‭ ‬wherein the Great Dragon is seen by the astounded Prophet John as being violently hurled down to the vicinity of the earth.‭ ‬Herein,‭ ‬we see a historical relic of a by-gone era,‭ ‬where the demotion of the Mother God,‭ ‬symbolized by the dragon,‭ ‬actually took place,‭ ‬giving rise to the principal male God,‭ ‬called by many names throughout the annals of time.

What does all this have to do with the novel‭? ‬Great question‭!

In the book,‭ ‬The Shaitan,‭ ‬we are once again brought face-to-face with this‭ ‬original,‭ ‬epic struggle,‭ ‬played out-not only in the main character’s recurring and frightening visions of the Great Mother Dragon-but also in the charismatic occult leader,‭ ‬Jamilyah,‭ ‬the very high priestess of the Mother Dragon God Herself.‭

How does this conflict play out in the end‭? ‬What is more,‭ ‬how does it influence the main character,‭ ‬Staff Sergeant Hank Donaldson in his mission as an Army Ranger‭?

This remains to be seen.

I encourage everyone to purchase a copy of‭ ‬The Shaitan,‭ ‬read it and find out.
